Water level

MADURAI: The water level in the Periyar dam stood at 132.3 feet with an inflow of 336 cusecs and a discharge of 600 cusecs.

The level in the Vaigai dam was 68.37 feet with an inflow of 707 cusecs and a discharge of 761 cusecs. The combined Periyar credit stood at 7752 mcft.

Power shutdown

There will be no power supply in the following areas between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Saturday (January 21) owing to the maintenance work to be carried out at the Thiruppalai sub-station: Thiruppalai, Narayanapuram, Athikulam, Valluvarnagar, Viswanathapuram, Mahatma Gandhi Nagar, Mullai Nagar, Sivakkadu, Kulamangalam, Krishnapuram Colony, Bibikulam, Maruthupandiyan Nagar, Kannanenthal, Soorya Nagar, Kadachanental, Umatchikulam, Alanganallur, Sugarmill, Valayapatty, Senthamangalam, Narasingam, Uthangudi, Manmalaimedu, Alagarkoil Road, Kamala Nagar, DRO Colony, Race Course Colony, Karumbalai, LDC Road, Pulavai Desai Road, Vallabai Road, Jawahar Road, H.A.Khan Road, Pattaraikara Road, Besant Road, Kamarajar Nagar Streets, Pudur Vandipathai, Pudur Natham Road, Reserve Line, Chokkikulam, Chinnachokikulam, Rathina Samy Nadar Road and Visalatchpuram. — Staff Reporter
