Pondicherry: Chief Minister N. Rangasamy has said that the Administration would extend a 25 per cent investment subsidy for industries started by women entrepreneurs in the Union Territory. Presiding over inauguration of state of art new facility of the Integra Software Services Private Limited here on Friday Mr Rangasamy said that with law and order maintained well here there was good scope for entrepreneurs to start industries here. However the Government would not permit hereafter any industries that caused air pollution and also disturbed the sub-soil water. Educated youth would be encouraged to start industries, as government alone could not be source of employment for the youth.
Preference for youth
He said that over the last five years multi-sectoral development had been encouraged. He said that the Industries Development Corporation and banks having branches in Pondicherry should also come forward to provide assistance to enterprising youth to launch industries. On its part the government would sanction subsidy to the extent of 25 per cent of the total project outlay. Integra Software Services here is engaged in e-publishing services and present facility available in the company was of global standard. Managing Director of the company Sriram Subramanya, who welcomed those present including the two-member delegation of Elsevier Limited based at Netherlands Mr Gerrit Bos (Executive Vice President-Operations) and Mr Lee Pierce (Director Global Supplier Management of Elsevier Limited) traced the growth of the Integra company over last twelve years since it was established. It had bagged the IT Exporter Award for the year 2002-2003 from MAIT New Delhi and selection was on the basis of excellence in export performance, track record, quality, best business practices and innovative human relation policies and skill development.
