Rs 25-crore housing scheme for the poor

Pondicherry: Chairman of Pondicherry Slum Clearance Board R. Radhakrishnan MLA told newsmen here on Friday that the Board would soon get tenements to benefit 1000 poor families and the Rs 25-crore project evolved by the Administration would be implemented soon.

He said that the housing scheme would be taken up on a 7-acre site in Reddiarpalayam.

Mr.Radhakrishnan said that the Board would distribute soon Rs 50,000 as subsidy to each of the 7500 families for construction of concrete houses in the place of the huts.
