Sensex extends gains

MUMBAI: The Bombay Stock Exchange benchmark Sensex extended its sharp gain for the second straight day on Friday and rallied further by 71.12 points to close at 9520.96 on increased buying activity. The 30-share index opened on a strong note at 9493.39 against Thursday's close of 9449.84 and rose to the intra-day high of 9556.19. Later, it softened and finished at 9520.96. — PTI
