NEW DELHI: The National Council of the Bharatiya Janata Party on Friday endorsed a suggestion that the highest decision making body of the party, the parliamentary board, be expanded to take in 11 members by amending the party constitution. Since the party was founded in 1980, the board has comprised the party president and eight members. Now the party president, who chairs the board, will be able to appoint 10 members. The Council also authorised party president Rajnath Singh to reconstitute the board, the central election committee and the central disciplinary committee. Some changes are also expected to be made in the composition of the party's national executive committee.
