BANGALORE: A royal battalion of 50 timeless automobiles will be on prominent roads of the city on Sunday. This vintage car rally, Spice Vintage Wheels 2006, has been organised by Spice Telecom and Karnataka Vintage and Classic Car Club in memory of India's Air Force warriors. The car rally will be followed by a classic car race at the Yelahanka Air Base, where the exotic beauties can "take off" on the runway. Addressing presspersons here on Wednesday, the vice-president of the Karnataka Vintage and Classic Car Club, Premnath, said that the rally will be flagged off at the Police Grounds (next to the Chinnaswamy Stadium) on Mahatma Gandhi Road at 10 a.m. on that day. The classic beauties will pass through Trinity Circle, get back on Mahatma Gandhi Road, cruise via Cubbon Road, Raj Bhavan, Infantry Road, Cunningham Road, then Bellary Road, Mehkri Circle to reach the Yelahanka Air Base, he said. "The event will allow citizens to witness a thrilling race of the vintage and classic models. Over 50 vintage and classic cars and 25 motorcycles manufactured between 1919 and 1969 will participate in the race, the club president Suleman Jamal said.
