Bangalore: Student volunteers of Bala Janaagraha have taken up a multi-location water project which is expected to enhance the participative nature of the movement related to local governance. The students have already researched on the subject: water is the fundamental life support base on this planet and there is ever growing demand in urban areas due to the increase in population and changing lifestyles. Thus, an urban citizen is extremely important to study the urban water situation and come up with suitable solutions to the problems of water availability and conservation. Some examples the children have worked on is how letting untreated sewage and effluents is degrading water sources and why water conservation both at the use and supply levels requires immediate attention. Exhibitions of the student projects will be for display. On Saturday, it will be shown at St. Ann's Girls High School on Miller's Road. On January 24, it will be on display at MMET English High School at Maruthiseva Nagar. For further details, visit www.janaagraha.org.
