BANGALORE: The Karnataka High Court on Friday refused to grant an interim order as prayed for by the Karnataka Live Bands Restaurants' Association seeking a direction to the Bangalore police to let them operate live bands till the police issued licences under the new rules. The court adjourned further hearing on the matter till February 17 and said the live bands could seek licences under the new rules/order, which were passed some time ago. Appearing for the State Government, Advocate-General B.T. Parthasarthy said only three units had sought licences under the new rules and their applications are being returned, as they are incomplete.
Stayed
Justice K.L. Manjunath on Friday stayed the proceedings in a matrimonial dispute in a family court in Bangalore. The petitioner said he was living in the U.S. and was not able to come to Bangalore to depose. He urged the court to permit him to be examined through video conferencing. The court rejected his petition . The petitioner moved the High Court, which stayed all further proceedings of the family court.
