Woman robbed of gold bangles

BANGALORE: Two youths gagged a woman and robbed her of a pair of gold bangles at her house in Hanumanthanagar police station limits on Thursday.

The police said that around 9 p.m. Shakuntalamma, a resident of 9th Main, 3rd Cross, Sreenivasanagar, was going towards the terrace of her second floor house when two youths, who climbed the stairs, gagged her and robbed her of gold bangles, worth Rs. 20,000. On a compliant by Shakuntalamma's son, Chandrashekar, the Hanumanthanagar police have registered a case.

Sandalwood tree felled

Thieves felled a sandalwood tree and attempted to take away the logs from the compound of Aleemullah Khan Mushtaq's house in Richmond Town, off Johnson Market, early on Friday. The police said that around 4.30 a.m. Mushtaq heard some commotion and when he switched on the lights, the thieves ran away. The police found some sandalwood logs and a saw in the compound.

The Ashoknagar police have registered a case.

Two killed

Two persons were killed in separate road accidents in the city on Thursday. The police said that Pooja (18), a resident of Malleswaram, was killed when a BMTC bus hit her scooter near the BRV junction in Shivajinagar traffic police station limits around 7 p.m.

In the other incident, an unidentified man aged around 55 was killed in a hit-and-run case on Hosur Road, off Iblur junction, around 11.30 p.m. The Adugodi traffic police have registered a case.

Suicide

Umesh (28), a resident of Ganesha Block in Nandini Layout police station limits, committed suicide by hanging himself at his house on Thursday.

The police said Umesh was an employee of a garment factory in 2nd Stage, Peenya.
