Nilgai creates panic
Around 9-30 a.m., the police received a call claiming that a nilgai had been spotted in a Saket colony. Some police personnel reached the spot and were shocked to find the nilgai lurking about in the colony with the civic body staff in hot pursuit. The animal was finally trapped after about two hours and handed over to Forest Department officials.
Minor girls assaulted
It is learnt that the fathers of the two victims lodged complaints with the Mongolpuri police alleging that their neighbour, Badan Singh, criminally assaulted them. It is learnt that the accused is a retired head constable. According to the police, the victims were taken to hospital for medical examination that confirmed that they had been raped.

Sanskrit Festival
The programme started with a welcome song in Sanskrit, followed by dance performance based on Mahalakshmi Stuti. DPS Indirapuram students also staged a Sanskrit play to promote harmony with nature. DPS Society chairman Narendra Kumar lauded the fact that children were being exposed to various languages.
Japanese grant
The two NGOs -- Aravali Education Society and Global Cancer Concern India -- are providing vocational training and undertaking healthcare projects in different parts of the country respectively. Aravali Education Society provides quality education, including vocational training, to rural and backward minorities in the Mewat district of Haryana, while Global Cancer Concern India organises cancer-screening programmes in the slum and rural areas of Delhi and neighbouring Gurgaon.
Remand extended
The police claimed to have seized some SIM cards, blank papers with fake signatures and trace papers which Vijay had allegedly used in forging the letters of Principal Secretary (Home), R. Narayanswami, and Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime), Ranjit Narayan, to get "sanction" for tapping the phone of Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh.
