HYDERABAD: Karnataka Governor T.N.Chaturvedi has said that new sources will help to interpret history in a new light. Inaugurating the XI annual conference of the South Indian Numismatic Society at Dravidian University, Kuppam, on Saturday, he emphasised the importance of various academic fora coming together and sharing their views, besides training youngsters. In his key-note address, M. G. S. Narayanan, former vice-chairman of the Indian Council of Historic Research, highlighted the significance of new sources in historiogrpahy. Retrieval of Sangham coins had made historians rethink about earlier premises on Tamil society. Vice-chancellor of Dravidian University Lakshminarayna also spoke on the occasion. The XI volume of the journal `Studies in South Indian Coins', Dravidian University newsletter , `The Dravidian', and the Dravidian University brochures were released by the Governor.
