Bihar put on alert ahead of Republic Day

PATNA:
An alert has been sounded across Bihar against terrorist attack in the run up to the Republic Day celebrations.
Acting on information received from the Union Home Ministry, the Chief Minister, Nitish Kumar, ordered for greater vigilance at vital installations. The Centre has cautioned the State of influx of terrorists from Pakistan.
Mr. Kumar also urged the people to be watchful and cooperate with the police in preventing mercenaries from creating disturbance in the State.
Security has been beefed up at the Jai Prakash Narain Airport, which is said to be one of the main targets of attack. Visitors are not being allowed in as a precautionary measure. The Bihar Regimental Centre, Danapur, has also issued a similar alert.
