Six held, stolen goods seized

HUBLI: The Dharwad district police arrested six persons on the charge of dacoity and recovered stolen goods valued at Rs. 5 lakhs.

The arrested are Mohammad Rafiq M. Kamatagi (22), Fakrusab H. Malagi (22), Moulasab P. Malagi (22), Hasansab I. Malagi (19), Dadapeer S. Malagi (30) and Altaf H. Jalegar (27). They belong to Dharwad and Bagalkot.

The police said that the gang had attacked the watchman of Renukadevi Maize Processing Factory on Navalgund-Chilakawada Road on the night of January 13 and stole building material in a truck. A case was registered at the Navalgund Police Station. The police said the arrested had stolen building material from several locations and sold it to shops in Hubli.
