ASPIRING ARTISTS: Schoolchildren at the on-the-spot painting competition organised on the occasion of the golden jubilee Republican Day by Chittari Foundation and Chittari Young World in Gulbarga on Sunday.
GULBARGA: Hundreds of children from different schools in the city on Sunday participated in an on-the-spot painting competition organised in connection with the golden jubilee Republic Day by the Chittari Foundation and Chittari Young World at the Karya Soudha Building Complex here. Girls outnumbered boys in the painting competition organised for different age groups and they brought out their ideas on different subjects on the canvas in varied colours and designs. Most paintings were on nature, environment protection, AIDS awareness campaign, wildlife, national leaders and freedom fighters. Chittari Foundation and Chittari Young World Director V.N. Chittari said 30 paintings on different subjects will be displayed at an exhibition organised on January 26 in the city. Commendation certificates and memento will be given to best artists.
