KOLLAM: The Kerala State Health Inspectors' Association (KSHIA) has called upon the State Government to entrust the conduct of `family health mela' to the Health Department. The mela is being held all over the State from January 23 to February 4. A statement from the KSHIA State committee here on Sunday strongly condemned entrusting the conduct of the mela to the local bodies. KSHIA general secretary Asramam P.R. Balagopal said that for the past three years the Health Department had successfully conducted the mela utilising the AIDS Control Society Fund. The association would submit petitions to the Health Minister and Health Secretary on Monday.
