Awareness camp for rural women

Pondicherry: The Pondicherry based Karunaalayam Rural Welfare Society conducted a four-day intensive training for rural women in collaboration with the Chennai based Workers Education Board on the premises of the Society recently to generate awareness among the women on various issues. A Society's communication said that the Education Officer from the Board Sankarasubramanian brought to the notice the issues and physical ailments women would normally face and also suggested various methods by which they could tackle the problems.

Among those who addressed the 40 women who underwent the training were Ms Upagara Mary Mathew of the State Social Welfare Board, the Field Publicity Officer Devendran, the Demonstrator officer of the Central Food and Nutrition Board T R Rajendran and another official of the Board Tirunavukarasu.
