VIZIANAGARAM: Army personnel travelling by a special train allegedly assaulted the train driver K. M. Nair and Assistant Driver P. R. Prasad here on Sunday morning. Station Manager M. V. Ramana Raju told The Hindu that the jawans pulled the chain when the train was half way through the platform fearing that it would not stop. As the lengthy train blocked other criss-crossing tracks, the driver, on instructions from Station Manager, moved the train a little ahead before stopped it to give way for Samata Express to enter the platform. This irritated the Army personnel who reportedly assaulted the drivers. As a result, the train reached here at 8.30 am and left the station only at 12 noon, Mr. Raju said.
