Rajahmundry: Brisk arrangements are being made to conduct Godavari Utsav in a grand manner from Tuesday and the Utsav Committee has launched a new website on Sunday. Mayor of Rajahmundry Municipal Corporation (RMC) M.S. Chakravarti and Andhra Pradesh Paper Mills Executive Director R.C. Mal and President P.K. Soori inaugurated a cricket match at Arts College grounds to mark the start of sports competitions in connection with Godavari Utsav. Launching the website, Mayor M.S. Chakravarti said that Dialabs of Visakhapatnam had designed a beautiful website (www.godavariutsav.com) giving all the information about Rajahmundry City, its history, Godavari river and its importance, Pushkarams, programme schedule, travel information and Utsav Committee.
Information through IVR
The CEO of Dialabs B. Satyendra said that they have designed website, providing information through IVR (interactive voice response) and SMS systems. The telephone number for IVR is-2449990 and anyone can SMS to 9949466562.
Food arrangements
The Mayor said that they have made accommodation arrangements for 400 special guests in different hotels and guesthouses and food arrangements will also be done. He said that the River Bay resorts will screen old movies in which the importance of Godavari was shown. He said that competitions for local talent would be conducted and asked to register in Anam Kalakendram by interested youth.
Cassettes
Utsav Committee members V. Gangadhar, P. Kondala Rao, P. Harinath and V. Srinivas said that they have sent cassettes to West Godavari district for vigorous campaign on Utsav as people of two districts are going to take part in the four-day mega event. They said that chairmen of 12 State-level corporations and Ministers are going to take part.
