CHENNAI:
Rider Mania 2006 brought together over 300 Royal Enfield bikers from across the country for two days of fun, parties and long rides along the East Coast Road in Chennai.
The largest edition of the annual event since its inception four years ago in Goa, it had the bikers riding down from Casurina Bay Resort to Mahabalipuram and back on Sunday.
Participants displayed their bikes and their modifications, exchanged tips on maintenance and competed for titles such as "Rider of the Year", "Longest Owned Bike" and "Best Innovative Modification".
"By rotating the venue and agreeing on a regular month for the event, it has become a very professionally handled and much awaited event for Enfield owners from across the country. Since the clubs in each city are growing by the day and more people are discovering the thrill of seeing the country on a Royal Enfield, we are proud at the fierce loyalty the owners show to the brand," said S. Vaitheeswaran, director of Royal Enfield in a press release about the event.
