Rajahmundry : A Sub-Inspector was injured when he tried to intervene and pacify the groups clashing over a gram panchayat site at Rajavolu village in Rajahmundry rural mandal on Saturday. According to Superintendent of Police Naveen Chand, Bommuru SI Mohd. Ali received information regarding clash between the groups of mandal vice-president Nakka Rajababu and his brother Nakka Syamalaraju. Mr. Ali along with Kadiam Sub-Inspector Satyanarayana rushed to the village and tried to stop the clash. However, the two groups continued stone-throwing attacking each other. During the course, Mr. Ali got injury on his head and was admitted to hospital. Later, the police arrested over 20 persons in connection with the clash. Meanwhile, Congress workers staged a rasta roko near Bommuru protesting against the arrest of Nakka Rajababu and his followers.
