Call for change in mindset of people

Unveils pillar to commemorate 125 years of inception of District Munsif Court and 25 years of Subordinate Judge Court

Staff Reporter

KADAPA: Judiciary should strive to bring about a change in the mindset of people, who were increasingly getting involved in litigations due to their narrow-minded approach, Andhra Pradesh High Court Judge G. Rohini said on Saturday.

She unveiled a pillar to commemorate 125 years of inception of the District Munsif Court and 25 years of the Subordinate Judge Court at Proddatur. Addressing judicial officers and members of the Bar after lighting a lamp, she said culture to value others' opinion would bring down litigations.

The judiciary, revenue and police machinery should work in tandem to avert undue delay in disposal of court cases, Justice Rohini felt.

Retired judges feted

Justice Rohini later felicitated retired judges P.V. Ranga Reddy, Venkata Reddy and T. Narayana Reddy.

Kadapa District and Sessions Judge M. Vijayalakshmi said 3,880 cases were pending in various courts in the district. Collector G. Ashok Kumar said the district was undergoing rapid development with the substantial sanction of funds.

Earlier, Proddatur Bar Association president Mudimela Konda Reddy welcomed the judicial officers and members of the Bar.

High Court Bar Council President Purushotham Reddy, Sub-Judge Shyamsunder, Additional Judge Prasad and Superintendent of Police Y. Nagi Reddy took part.
