Non-resident Haryanvis urged to `support' State

Congress Government working as a team: Hooda

Chandigarh: Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today called upon the non-residents Haryanvis to offer their full support and cooperation for making his state the number one in the country.

He said the Congress government here ``is working as a team for the all-round development of the State.''

According to a press release issued here, the Chief Minister was speaking at a felicitation function organised by the Haryana Nagrik Sangh at Hyderabad.

"Haryanvis have earned a name in Hyderabad by the dint of hard work, dedication and honesty," he said adding, "it has been the culture of the state to work hard and at the same time to be attached to their roots."

Mr Hooda said all the Haryanvis who have worked outside the State were involved in one or other kind of social work in their hometowns.

"Haryana is a holy land where Lord Krishna delivered the sermon of `Bhagwad Gita' to the mankind and this message of Karam Yoga is still relevant in the modern context," he added.

Referring to the Arya Samaj Movement started in Hyderabad, the Chief Minister said the Central government had recognised it as a "struggle for independence".

All those participated in it were given the status of "freedom fighters". Mr Hooda sought participation from all sections of the society for the overall development of the state.

``The government is making all possible efforts for providing a congenial environment to the development of the State."

Speaking on the occasion, working president of the Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee (HPCC), Dr Ram Parkash said, "the aim of the government is to provide fearless, corruption free and transparent administration to the people of the state in order to ensure investors-friendly-<243>environment."

Addressing the gathering, Haryana Transport Minister Randeep Singh Surjewala said that the Haryanvis had kept their culture and values intact in every part of the world they worked in.

Member of Rajya Sabha Girish Sanghi, hailing from Haryana said, "the Haryanvis settled in Hyderabad have various achievements to their credit, who have put their full faith and efforts in every field they worked in." -- UNI
