Helmet rule opposed

Members of the Dr. MCR Two Wheeler Riders Association on Sunday held a protest at Golconda Fort decrying the compulsory helmet rule imposed on two-wheeler riders in the city. The protestors carried banners criticising the rule and wanted that wearing of helmet be made optional.

Theatre festival

Koshish Theatre Group is organising the Annual Inter-School & Inter-Collegiate Theatre Festival at Indira Priyadarshini Auditorium, Public Gardens on January 23 and 24. The event is being organised in collaboration with Jawahar Bal Bhavan and the plays will focus on communal harmony and other social problems.Further details can be obtained on phone number 24572984.

Painting competition

The Indian Navy organised a painting competition for children at Jawahar Bal Bhavan here on Sunday.

Over 100 children took part in the competition organised under the aegis of the Eastern Naval Command. Certificates were given away to participants.
