Students commit suicide

BANGALORE: Two students committed suicide in as many incidents here on Sunday.

L.V. Madhavan, final year B.Com student and resident of J.P. Nagar 6th Phase, who went to sleep last night after asking his parents to wake him up early on Sunday to prepare for his examination, reportedly consumed sleeping tablets. His father, Venugopal, found him dead in the morning, the police said.

In the second incident, Mohammed Abdul Rehman (14), a resident of Lakkasandra, died after consuming poison, the police said. An eighth student of a school on Brigade Road, Rehman, son of a lorry driver, is said to have faced pressure to excel in studies.
