Trust to set up mini superspeciality hospital

    CHIRALA: Sri Arulananda Trust, Vodarevu, which met on Sunday under the presidentship of Sri Arulananda Swamy decided to go ahead with the construction of mini superspeciality hospital estimated to cost Rs. 14 crores at Vodarevu, or near the Bypass Road, near Chirala, after completion of Brahmendra Mandir at Chillakallu in Krishna district.

    Releasing the resolutions to the press, on Monday Swami Arulananda said a free medical check-up camp exclusively for the residents of coastal mandals would be held on February 12 on the ashram premises.

    A team of 14 specialist doctors from Bangalore, Chennai and Hyderabad would examine patients who would be provided free conveyance, food and medicines.

    The trust handed over a cheque for Rs. 20,000 to Sreenu Naik, a degree final year student in local college for lung treatment.

    Ratifying the renovation of 1,000-year-old Adikesavaswamy temple at Pathachirala at a cost of Rs. 7.5 lakhs by the trust, it was resolved that the consecration be done at an early date.

    It was further decided not to take up renovation of temples anymore but to pursue social welfare work for the uplift of downtrodden within the ashram's jurisdiction.

    A site measuring two cents costing Rs. 1.5 lakhs was donated to Sri Sai Baba temple at Bosenagar, Chirala.

    The trust decided to donate three computers to the local A.K.P.K. Junior College and 15 sewing machines to fisherwomen and monthly scholarships to 10 talented poor students.

    `Maha Homam'

    The nine-day Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Maha Homam for world peace would begin on January 27, he said.
