Water supply at

low pressure

NEW DELHI: To facilitate repair and renovation of a 1.5-metre diameter South Delhi water main feeding the Deer Park reservoir, water supply will be available at low pressure in Vasant Kunj, Munirka, JNU, Mehrauli, IIT and other parts of South and South West Delhi for a day from Tuesday morning.

Other areas which also will get water supply at low pressure are Safdarjang Enclave, Safdarjang Development Area, Katwaria Sarai, Jia Sarai, Adchini, Janakpuri, Sagar Pur, R.K. Puram, Lado Sarai, Gautam Nagar, Yusuf Sarai, hauz Khas, Naraina Vihar and Naraina Village.

Likewise, due to flushing of a booster pumping station, water supply will be affected for a day from Tuesday evening in Model Town, Kewal Park, Pratap Bagh and adjoining areas.

Exhibition of electronic components

NEW DELHI: A three-day international conference-cum-exhibition of electronic components, materials and production equipment titled ``Componex/Electronic India-2006" opened at Pragati Maidan here on Monday.

Organised jointly by Electronics Today, the country's first techno-economics electronic monthly journal, and Messe Munchen International, Germany, the 11th edition of the exhibition has attracted more than 700 exhibitors from 25 countries.

Cultural exchange programme

NEW DELHI: A group of 19 students and four teachers of CSKM Public School at Chhattarpur have returned from a 10-day visit to Srinagarika Princess Mother School in Thailand.

Part of a cultural exchange programme, the students participated in many activities including workshops and seminars on Thai music, dance and art.

Tributes to Netaji

NEW DELHI: Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha and former Deputy Prime Minister L. K. Advani paid floral tributes at the portrait of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose in the Central Hall of Parliament House here on Monday to mark his 109th birth anniversary.

Among the other dignitaries who also paid tributes to Netaji was the Secretary-General of the Lok Sabha, P.D.T. Achary.

A booklet containing a profile of Netaji brought out in Hindi and English by the Lok Sabha Secretariat on the occasion was presented to those who attended the function.

Blood donation camp

NEW DELHI: A blood donation camp was organised by the Tractor and Agricultural Parts Merchant Welfare Association with the help of the Army at Mori Gate here on Monday.

According to the Association's general secretary, Ashwani Jain, traders donated 150 units of blood for the Army. The camp was organised under the leadership of Lt-Col Sunil Arora.
