CHENNAI: Times Now, a 24-hour English news channel, will soon be available on Reliance cell phones even before it is launched on television.

Reliance India Mobile customers with either a Nokia 6255 or Nokia 6235 handset that supports streaming can view the streaming channel, while other R World models will be able to access news clips on demand.

Now, Reliance customers can access content from Aaj Tak, Headlines Today and NDTV. Times Now is a Times Group and Reuters service.

The service was launched through a videoconference from Mumbai by Sunil Lulla, chief executive officer of Times Global Broadcasting Company; Mahesh Prasad, president, Data and Application, R World; and Jimmy Mogal, head of corporate communication, Reliance Infocomm. The clips will cost Rs.7-Rs.10 depending on the content and will be updated every 15 minutes. The streaming news is priced at Rs.15 a session.
