NEW DELHI: Delhi High Court on Monday extended its earlier order till May 28, restraining a trial court from giving a final order on the British Government's plea to extradite Hannah Foster murder accused Maninder Singh Kohli to England. Justice R C Jain extended the earlier order, pronounced in October 2005, and asked the trial court not to give the final order in the case till the petition was disposed off. Counsel A K Wali, appearing for the Government, filed an affidavit submitting that Kohli could not claim the right to self defence under various sections of the CrPC, as he was facing the trial for his extradition. The Court asked Counsel Charanjit Singh apeparing for Kohli to file a rejoinder to the application of the Government. Kolhi is facing extradition proceedings in a district court in Delhi to face trial in a British court on charges of rape and murder of teenager Hannah Foster in that country. In an order on October 21, 2005, Justice R S Sodhi had restrained the trial court from passing the final order in the extradition of Kohli. However, the court said trial proceedings would go on. - UNI
