BANGALORE: Sword-wielding robbers struck at a hotel and a businessman's house in the city on Sunday night and made away with Rs. 32,000 in cash, gold jewellery and a mobile phone. The police said that around 10.30 p.m., after the day's business was over, Santosh, cashier of Acharya Café in 2nd Phase, J.P. Nagar, was counting the cash. Three men, armed with swords, barged into the hotel and robbed Santosh of Rs. 23,000 in cash after threatening him and other employees. The J.P. Nagar police have registered a case. In another case, four men threatened Venkatesh, a businessman, and his family members with swords and looted Rs. 9,000 in cash, two gold rings and a mobile phone from their house in Vidyaranyapura police station limits. The police said that around 8.30 p.m. some one pressed the calling bell of Venkatesh's house at Nanjappa Layout.
