Silver Hills Public School, Kozhikode, has every reason to cheer as it shared the third place for the school with maximum points in the State Schools Kalotsavam that concluded in Kochi on Monday. The school has been winning laurels for the past couple of years in the arts festival. George Punchayil, Principal of the school, says the school has emerged first in the list of schools with maximum points in the State Schools Kalotsavam in 2003 and 2004. He attributes it to the excellent rapport between teachers and parents and the hard work by the students who participated in the Kalotsavam. This year, the school bagged five first prizes. Students of Kozhikode, including K. Aisha Halima (first in Urdu recitation) and Arun G (tabla, Chinmaya Vidyalaya) did the district proud. It was a proud moment for Silver Hills School when S. Anand won the maximum number of points among boys in the Kalotsavam. A class X student of the school, Anand came first in Bharatanatyam, Kuchupudi, Ottan Thullal and Kathakali (single) and A grade in Kathakali (group) and a `C' grade in Maddalam, winning a total of 41 points.
