Ajay Selvaraj moves into semifinals

MADURAI: Top seed Ajay Selvaraj of Chennai entered the men's singles semifinals of the Tamil Nadu Tennis Association-ranking tournament conducted by Madurai Union Club with an easy 6-3, 6-2 win over Md. Farook of Coimbatore here on Tuesday.

In the AITA-ranking championship series, unseeded Vigneswaran of Tamil Nadu provided an upset in the boys U-16 singles by defeating fifth seeded Advait Kirtane of Gujarat 6-7, 6-2, 7-6 and entered the quarterfinal.

In boys U-14 singles, unseeded P.S. Soorya Prasath of Tamil Nadu stunned fourth seed R. Vigneswaran of Tamil Nadu 4-6, 7-5, 6-1 and entered the quarterfinals.
