Ex-editor of Soviet Land passes away

HYDERABAD:
Bhallamudi Mallikarjuna Rao, former Editor of Soviet Land, (Telugu edition) passed away in the early hours of Tuesday morning at Nizam's Institute of Medical Sciences, due to kidney failure. He was 61. He is survived by wife and two daughters.
Affectionately called Mallik, Rao began his career as a sub-editor in Visalandhra daily in 1967 at Vijayawada before taking over as the Editor of Soviet Land published from Madras, where he worked extensively in the field of literature. The Andhra Pradesh Union of Working Journalists (APUWJ) has mourned Rao's death and conveyed its heartfelt sympathies to the members of the bereaved family.
