The two helped forge documents, make rubber stamp seals

CHENNAI:
The Central Crime Branch police on Tuesday arrested two more persons in connection with a cheating case. A dentist, Latha, was arrested last week on charges of cheating a businessman by producing fake documents.
Police gave the names of the arrested persons as Hameed Basha (49), a veterinary surgeon from Villivakkam and Karunanidhi (44), a resident of Ramapuram.
Police said Basha, a friend of Dr. Latha, helped her in making rubber stamp seals of the Income Tax department, a few nationalised banks and of a private bank. Basha owned two flats, for which he prepared four forged documents.
He pledged the documents with banks to obtain loans, police said.
His associate, Karunanidhi, worked as a proof reader in a private concern and helped Basha in forging signatures of registration department officials, which were used in the forged documents.
