CHENNAI: Hexaware Technologies, an IT and BPO services provider, is coming up with a state-of-the-art software development campus at Siruseri on the outskirts of Chennai. Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday, Atul Nishar, Chairman, Hexaware Technologies, who was here for the groundbreaking ceremony, said that the IT Park would be located in the SIPCOT land at Siruseri. Hexaware would be investing Rs. 350 crore on this project. The building would accommodate more than 11,000 software professionals. Mr. Nishar said it would be housed on 27 acres and would have a built-up area of 1.2 million sq ft. The campus would be built in three phases. The first phase, costing Rs. 100 crore, which was expected to be completed in 12-13 months, would cover a 4.5 lakh sq ft of built up area and would house over 3,000 employees. The remaining two phases would be completed within five years and would cover a built up area of 3.5 lakh sq ft each. He said at present there were 1,300 employees working in Chennai. With the development of the campus, Hexaware would provide job opportunities for additional 9,000 people in the next five years. This project would be funded through internal accruals, he added. Mr. Nishar said the campus would be built by a Singapore-based architectural firm, Architects Team 3.
Baby care centre
It would be a green building and would be in compliance with international environmental quality standards. The first phase would see the development of a dedicated customer care centre, two engineering blocks, special amenity blocks, an auditorium and a multipurpose sports field, shopping mall and multi-cuisine food court, ATMs and medical facilities. Keeping in mind the comforts for the women staff, a special baby-care centre would be built. The campus would also have training blocks for Hexavarsity, which would be an in-house university for enabling mentoring, continuous learning, skill up gradation and new skill development in Hexaware. A guest accommodation with 50 suites would also be constructed within the campus.
