BELLARY: Asundi Mallikarjun Reddy and M. Nagaraj of the Bharatiya Janata Party were unanimously elected president and vice-president of the Bellary Taluk Panchayat respectively. Elections to these posts were held here on Wednesday. The BJP swept the recently held polls in Bellary taluk. It bagged 20 of the total 31 seats. This is for the first time in the history of Bellary Taluk Panchayats that the BJP has taken over the reigns of the administration. Mayor G. Somashekar Reddy, K. Ramalingappa, zilla panchayat member and general secretary of the party S. Gurulinganagowd, Virupakshagowd, Thimmareddy, complimented the newly-elected president and vice-president.
