CONDOLENCES: Governor Sushil Kumar Shinde, Speaker K.R. Suresh Reddy and PCC president K. Keshava Rao who called on Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy at Apollo Hospital in Hyderabad following his mother Jayamma's demise on Wednesday. Pho to: P.V. Sivakumar
Hyderabad: Jayamma (76), mother of Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy passed away on Wednesday evening. She had been admitted to the Apollo Hospital here after she sustained an injury in her ancestral home at Pulivendula in Cuddapah district two weeks ago. Her body was taken on Wednesday to Pulivendula where YSR will go on Thursday. Governor Sushil Kumar Shinde was among the early callers on Dr. Reddy at the hospital. He set aside protocol and escorted a grim looking Dr. Reddy to his car. Speaker K.R. Suresh Reddy, Ministers K. Jana Reddy, D. Srinivas, N. Raghuveera Reddy, Sabitha Indra Reddy, along with APCC president K. Keshava Rao, CPI Secretary K. Narayana, and several MLAs called on the Chief Minister at the hospital. Former Ministers of TRS N. Narasimha Reddy, G. Vijayarama Rao and S. Santosh Reddy offered condolences. TDP Preident N. Chandrababu Naidu conveyed sympathies to the bereaved family and spoke to YSR on telephone from Switzerland. CPI (M) State secretary B.V. Raghavulu, All-India Majlis Ittehadul Muslimeen MP Asaduddin Owaisi and MIM floor leader in Assembly Akbaruddin Owaisi, also conveyed their grief.
