CHENNAI: TVS Electronics has reported satisfactory performance in the third quarter ended December 31, 2005 with further growth in printer sales, power products and keyboards besides higher contribution through contract manufacturing and service support activities. The company plans to focus more on the PC components division. It plans to launch mother boards to be produced on a contract basis at a unit in China in the current year. It is also undertaking servicing of CDMA mobile phones. Addressing presspersons here on Wednesday, Gopal Srinivasan, director, said that during the quarter the company secured a major contract for supplying dot-matrix printers from the Life Insurance Corporation, In the third quarter ended December 31, 2005, the company has achieved a turnover of Rs. 73.77 crore against Rs. 68.44 crore in the corresponding period in the previous year. The profit after tax has increased to Rs. 43 lakh from Rs. 38 lakh. With higher sales of set top boxes and other new products and large orders from the public sector enterprises for printers, the company expects higher growth in sales and profits in the remaining three months of the period, Mr. Gopal Srinivasan said.
