HASSAN: The Malnad College of Engineering, Hassan, has secured nine ranks in the final year B.E. examination conducted by Visvesvaraya Technological University in 2004-05, according to the principal of the college, M.G. Venkatesha Murthy. In a press release here on Thursday, he said the college bagged the first three ranks in civil engineering, mechanical engineering and instrumentation technology streams. While J.S. Sandeep bagged the first rank in mechanical engineering, Khuito Sema secured the first rank in civil engineering and Sree Roop Ghosh Choudhary the first rank in instrumentation technology. The list of the other rank winners is as follows: Kaniyan Jahar (fifth rank, architecture), Raghavendra H.P. (fifth rank, Civil engineering), Darshan V. Murthy (10 rank, computer science), Ameen Sheik, Balachandra Kuduva and J. Rajesh Kumar (sixth, seventh and eighth ranks, respectively, automobile engineering).
