Additional SP of Nellore to get President's medal

Nellore: Additional Superintendent of Police (SP) Nellore D.V.S.S. Murthy has been selected for this year's President's Police Medal for distinguished service. Mr. Murthy was recently conferred the `Police Mahonnata Seva Pathakam' by Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy at Hyderabad, on November 1, for his meritorious service.

He also won the Indian Police Medal in the year 1989.

Born in Nandivelugu village of Tenali mandal, Guntur district, Mr. Murthy entered the department as an SI in 1969 and his first posting was at Narasannapet, Srikakulam district.
