HUBLI: The United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) and the Union Ministry of Commerce and Industry are organising "Post-Hong Kong WTO Consultations" in Hubli on February 20. Speaking to presspersons here on Tuesday, M.C. Hiremath, Vice-President, Karnataka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), Hubli, and Mahendra Ladhad, Honorary Secretary, said the export promotion cell of the KCCI is among the nine organisations in the country that has been chosen for conducting the programme. More than 200 people will be invited to give their reactions to the WTO Hong Kong Ministerial Draft finalised recently, they said. Since the draft has to be signed by the member countries before April 30, the Union Government is conducting such programmes across the country to get responses from various organisations and associations, Mr. Hiremath said. G.K. Pillai, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Commerce and the New Delhi coordinator of UNCTAD, will visit Hubli to get responses to the ministerial draft, he said.
