TIRUMALA: F or the first time in the history of the temple administration, devotees complained of the poor of quality of food being served to them under the TTD's Nitya Annadanam scheme. The devotees, who had their food on Thursday afternoon, registered their protest against the inferior quality of food being served to them and refused to have meals. They said that `stale' meal was provided to them and their efforts to take up the issue to the notice of the TTD staff remained futile, as the staff on duty did not show any interest. The Nitya Annadanam officials, when asked, said that the rice belonged to the latest harvest and that steps would be taken to return the latest consignment.
