MADURAI: Maram Samrat of Andhra Pradesh won the boys U-14 singles title, while Rachita Sarda of Karnataka won the girls U-14 singles title in the All India Tennis Association — ranking series for boys and girls conducted by Madurai Union Club here on Thursday. Fifth seeded, Maram Samrat, who upset top seed Surya Pavan in the quarterfinals, beat third seed Surya Sirala of Andhra Pradesh in the semi finals in the morning and went on to clinch the title in the evening by defeating unseeded R. Ram Kumar of Tamilnadu 6-3, 6-4. The results: TN State-ranking: Men's Singles (Semifinals): Ajay Selvaraj (Che) bt V. Sudharsan (Che) 6-3, 6-2; Manoj Kumar (CBE) bt Gugan Varma (CHE) 6-4, 6-2.
