Seventeen old beauties and a motorcycle were in the rally

OLD BEAUTIES: Vintage cars which took part in a rally organised on Republic Day in Mangalore.

MANGALORE: A vintage car rally held here on Thursday added colour to the Republic Day celebrations.

Seventeen old beauties and a motorcycle were paraded down the major roads of the city before ending their journey at Kadri Hills.

The cars included a 1932 Morris Minor, a 1947 Dodge, a 1965 Chevrolet, a 1960 Chevrolet Impala (power steering model) and the Indian-made Hindustan 9.

Inspector General of Police, Western Range, K.S. Suresh Babu, flagged off the rally at Nehru Maidan after the formal Republic Day function was over.
