Bidar may get facelift before March

Staff Correspondent

BIJAPUR: The Deputy Commissioner, Mohammad Mohsin, called upon the public to cooperate with the administration in implementing road widening work in the city.

Unfurling the national flag at the Ambedkar Stadium on Republic Day, he said the administration wants to give the city a facelift before the 350th annual celebration of Gol Gumbaz in March. He announced that Begum Talab, a water tank of the Adil Shahi era, would be rejuvenated at a cost of Rs. 5.23 crores. The Government has now sent the proposal to the Union Ministry of Tourism and Culture.

He said the indoor stadium building, which was abandoned midway for want of funds, would be completed soon as the shortfall of Rs. 45 lakhs has been mobilised.
