12 lakh tonnes of sugar released for February

Special Correspondent

NEW DELHI: The Government has released 12 lakh tonnes of sugar for free sale in February.

Also, one lakh tonne will be released for U.P. sugar mills.

With a levy quota release of 2.16 lakh tonnes for February, the total availability would be 15.16 lakh tonnes.

Sources said the Government would also convert such quantities of free sale quota into levy sugar that the mills do not sell in February.
