Tribals reject plea
Staff Reporter
BHUBANESWAR:
The agitating tribals of Kalinga Nagar have rejected the Government plea to end the blockade of the Daitari-Paradip Highway.
The tribals are blocking the highway since January 2 when 12 tribals were killed in police firing when opposing construction of the boundary wall of a proposed steel plant.
The Visthapan Virodhi Janmanch, the organisation spearheading the agitation, announced its decision to continue with the blockade following failure of talks between the tribal leaders and district administration on Thursday.
