Inflation rate up at 4.4 p.c.

NEW DELHI: The inflation rate based on wholesale prices rose by 0.16 percentage points to 4.4 per cent during the week ended January 14 from 4.24 per cent during the first week of this calendar year. While prices of most food items declined, those of manufactured products, which have the highest weight of over 63 per cent in the wholesale price index, rose.
