Coimbatore: The Puthiya Tamizhagam on Friday sought a Constitutional amendment to provide reservation for Muslims in education and employment. Referring to the Supreme Court order quashing the Andhra Pradesh Government Bill providing reservation to Muslims, he told reporters that the Centre should bring in an amendment enabling reservation for Muslims and include it in the Ninth Schedule. His party had taken the initiative to convene a meeting in New Delhi to discuss the issue with like-minded parties and organisations. He said a decision would be taken after the executive committee meeting in Tiruchi on January 29.
