Exhibition to spread awareness of human eye

CHENNAI:
An exhibition that aims at promoting public awareness of the human eye and its related problems will be held on Saturday and Sunday. The venue would be the Elite School of Optometry and the Department of Medical Sociology, Sankara Nethralaya, at the Nethralaya's eye hospital on GST Road, St. Thomas Mount.
The key features include information on refractive errors and spectacles correction, contact lenses, eye infections, visual disorders in children, age-related problems such as cataract and glaucoma, sports vision, eye donation, computer vision syndrome, genes and eyes and refractive surgery.
A puppet show and a skit on general eye problems will be staged and a free vision-screening programme will be conducted for the public as part of the two-day schedule.
A face-to-face interview with eye specialists for the public has also been arranged on Sunday. Admissions will be free.
