Musical nite to raise funds

HUBLI: A grand musical nite to raise funds for development activities and welfare schemes of the South Western Railway Women's Organisations (SWRWO), Hubli Division, was held at the Railway Sports Ground here on Saturday night.

Inaugurating the programme, Bina Perti, zonal president, SWRWO, said the women's organisation has always provided help to railwaymen not only in educational, social, cultural and sports activities but also during natural calamities through voluntary action.

Complementing the members of SWRWO for the initiative taken by them in organising the event, she hoped that their efforts to ensure the welfare of the railwaymen will continue. She released a souvenir on the occasion.

Trilok Nath Perti, General Manager, SWR, and K.D. Mainrai, Divisional Railway Manager, Hubli, were present. Anita Mainrai, president, SWRWO, Hubli Division, elaborated on the activities conducted by the organisation.

Explaining the need for organising such an event, she said SWRWO intends to extend its activities to cover more number of railwaymen.

Laila Rathod, secretary, presented a report on the activities of the organisation. Pallavi Pandey compeered the programme. Swarnalatha Patrudu, treasurer proposed a vote of thanks.

The troupe "Bangalore Boys," led by film actor Sai Prakash, regaled the audience for more than three hours.
